Idea for Communication Applications

Edu.glogster.com would be great for the Personality Posters my students create!

I would also like to use "xtranormal" to allow my students to create virtual interviews.

Lesson Idea: My Brother Sam is Dead

Have the student come up with a new ending to My Brother Sam is Dead.
Have them write or type the script up. Edit the script.
Next, the students will act out the scene and video tape it.
Then show the video to the class, post to the blog site or You-tube site.
This could be a lot of fun for the students.

We are looking at using Skype to assist in teaching our classes how to respond to short answer questions.  Also, looking at using Skype to class discuss (socratic circle) a book that they are reading.

Skype Idea

Jeopardy Competition between two schools:

Needs: Computer with webcam and internet connection
             jeopardylab.com
             textbook
             class notes

Procedure:  Students are directed to create a jeopardy game based on a concept within the academic subject's curriculum map (ex.:  "Author's Purpose")  Students are guided to creating category topics and then writing questions for each category.  A Skype relationship/connection will be created by teachers from two classes so that the students may compete with each other in playing the game.
